Since the 70s that Star Wars was first released there was a craze for it. And because of that there have been created many toys, computer games and many more items that are based on Star Wars. One of the best things to get from all these are Star Wars Lego toys.

If you have kept track of the various things that Lego has created based on Star Wars you must know that there is a great variety of things that you can choose from. The good thing is that Lego cares for everyone so it has created things that are not very expensive for the average child. There are many sets that are in tiny scales and others are in huge dioramas.

It doesn't matter which aspect of the Star Wars saga you like. It can be the original films, the console games or the recent TV series. Anything you choose Lego toyshave something to offer for everyone. There are many Lego toys that have been created based on the very first six Star Wars movies. But if you feel imaginative you can actually make alterations and create really unique designs. You can have totally new and innovative sets of the Star Wars movies. Lately there was the new trilogy, the CGI 'Clone wars' clips and more recent the Clone Wars TV series.

The very first episode of the series was actually a long episode that was shown in cinemas. And the series started at around the same time. Fans all over the world were more than excited. The toys that were created based on the TV series were also warmly welcomed. A huge success followed the release of everything new that had to do with Star Wars. We saw new ships and vehicles and even some new characters like Ahsoka.

The toys that really sell like crazy and have to do with Clone Wars are Clone Wars Lego toys. The designers have made a really good job and that is why fans have embraced the new Lego toys. It is always exciting to be able to build your very own ship or figure from the Star Wars saga.

Moreover there have been many interactive toys that are inspired by the Lego toys. That is more than amazing, don't you think? They are based on the prequels and the sequels as well. There is also a version called 'the complete saga' and revolves around the six episodes of Star Wars.

These games don't only appeal to the fans of Star Wars but to the fans of interactive games as well.

That is why all of the versions are massive successes. You can find scenes and figures from all the episodes, like the lightsaber battle with Darth Maul that you saw in the Episode one: the phantom menace. Try them out and you will see that the interactive games by Lego are great fun and an amazing pass time for children.

The early 1900s were very different from today. Toys, though they have evolved in many ways, were still the delight of children everywhere. Explore the history of toys, as charted by the History website.

Theodore Roosevelt's Presidency marks the beginning of the "Teddy Bear." In the year 1902, toy bears were named "Teddy" after the president's nickname. The Teddy Bear became known world wide, and is still known and loved today. It was only a few years later when the Teddy Bears were mass produced.

Crayola crayons were made for the first time ever in 1903 by Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith.

In 1913, an item called the Erector Set was invented. It was a steel, motorized toy that children could use to build models of just about anything. Its creator was A.C. Gilbert, a medical doctor.

Charles Pajeau created a similar wooden set called Tinker Toys in the year 1914. Tinker Toys was made for younger children.

Raggedy Ann dolls first came on the scene after newspaper cartoonist Johnny Gruelle reproduced the doll he made for his daughter. That was in 1915.

The following year, an architect's son named John Lloyd Wright, invented Lincoln Logs, which were interlocked to make structures.

Polystyrene was invented in 1927, and it is the kind of plastic that was used for making toys in the early days.

Two years after Mickey Mouse was created (which was in 1928), stuffed Mickey Mouse dolls were made by Charlotte Clark. This was the start of Disney merchandise.

The yo-yo became popular in the United States after Donald Duncan bought a yo-yo company in 1929.

Scrabble was developed from a game called Criss Cross, invented by Alfred M. Butts in 1931. It became known as Scrabble after James Brunot bought the rights from Butts, and trademarked the game with this new name. Now more than a million Scrabble games are purchased every year in North America.

In 1935, the Parker Brothers introduced Monopoly. This game is so popular today that there are many different clones of this game, many of which are just as popular.

The View-Master, a three dimensional viewer was developed by a camera enthusiast named William Gruber. The toy became popular when Gruber licensed Disney characters to make still, 3-D images from Disney movies and television programs.

Finally, in 1940, model airplanes were mass produced. They started out as a way for manufacturers to sell planes to the military, but later caught on as a toy.

The toys that we know and love today have had their roots from these ancient times. Isn't it interesting to know that if it weren't for all these creative people most of the games you know today, would never have been?

OK, so in time for Christmas we figured it might be  good idea to do some digging and come up with lists of the best toys, as in best selling which often is a great indicator of which toy will be most appreciated under the tree, for toddlers, girls, boys and so on. We just started this little holiday project and expect to have it done by mid November so do check back and hopefully you can get inspiration for your Christmas shopping.

Please note that while researching the best toys out there we'll make every effort to NOT list "stupid" or dangerous stuff and only give you the ones you can trust and feel good about getting. If you have any ideas on how to do this as good as possible feel free to give us a shout. For instance we're thinking to sort the lists by age and by type of toy, ie educational, wooden, 2-5 year olds and so on but perhaps there's a better way?

Also we'll try to keep these best toys lists updated on an almost daily basis since we expect numbers to change a lot as we approach Christmas and the wishing starts

Alright, LEGO may very well be the most innovative thing since sliced bread (perhaps LEGO was even first?) and the longevity of this great toy never seizes to amaze. When you're looking for Legos for Sale there's many different routes one can explore to get the best deals possible and here we'll focus on the online alternatives available.

Basically I have 3 favorite places where I always start to look for cheap legos for sale and which one I end up buying from depends on what kind of deal I can find on any given day and what other things I want to buy at the same time. Of course you may be after a newly launched product, and in that case your best bet may be to get it straight from LEGO's own online shop, but often you can find great offers at eBay for older stuff and when I'm after more than just LEGO I pretty much always end up at Amazon.

So there you have it and I'll give you some examples right here and very soon. Until then this would be a perfect starter kit.

Alright, Vsmile Games by VTech has to be one of the better educational (and fun) series ever made with a huge number of titles released over the years and they're still going strong, for good reasons. Perfect for younger girls (says 6-8 on the box but really should be more like 3-6) who just love Dora The Explorer, Scooby Doo, Superman, Spiderman and friends, Finding Nemo, Go Diego Go and many many more titles.

Any Knex Roller Coaster is a great buy, period! What's great about these kits is that they are actually fun not just to use but perhaps even more so to build which adds to the whole experience. We've been reading up on the reviews and it's pretty clear that the HotWheels Acceleracers would  make perfect Christmas gifts or birthday presents, ie "SUPER COOL, GRANDPA!","Best car set ever", "This made a little boy very happy!", "I'm not sure who enjoys them most, my son or my husband..." and many similar reviews.

Please note that although these are sturdy, high quality products, which can be considered safe toys but as always keep a look out when kids play with small things.
